Jessica Katz

Jessica Katz is a native of West Hartford and is currently living in Burlington. Following a passion of horses she’s had since childhood, she graduated from Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J. in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Equine Studies.  Upon completion of her degree she worked and trained with horses in Florida, Vermont and Connecticut.

Realizing horses were more of a passion as opposed to a career choice; she switched gears and started to work for Regional Physical Therapy in Bloomfield. While she enjoyed working with people she felt that she could do more to help them.  She decided to go back to school and pursue a career as a dental hygienist at Tunxis Community College.

While in school, she traveled to Belize for a service learning project, worked in different community settings and volunteered at the Mission of Mercy. She graduated with honors from Tunxis Community College in May 2010. She is currently working at Katz Family Dental.  When she isn’t working, she enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, horseback riding, scuba diving, hiking and being outdoors.

Sarina is one of two dental assistants and has been employed at Katz Family Dental since 2006. Although she had already had more than five years of experience as a dental assistant, Sarina chose to enroll as a post-graduate student at A.I. Prince Technical School’s Dental Assisting program which enabled her to earn her x-ray certification.

Sarina enjoys her position as dental assistant, but is interested in furthering her career by becoming a dental hygienist. She is currently enrolled in prerequisite classes at Tunxis Community College in Farmington. In addition to working full time and attending school part time, Sarina enjoys volunteering her dental assisting skills in the community. This includes Connecticut’s Mission of Mercy, the annual statewide free dental clinic.
